An API lets two pieces of software exchange data automatically, with no re-entry: an order placed on your website lands in your management system, a customer created in the CRM appears in invoicing. ITEmpire Group designs APIs and connects your systems in a reliable, secure and documented way.
Integration examples
- E-commerce site ↔ stock management and invoicing.
- Website forms ↔ CRM and the sales team’s inbox.
- Mobile app ↔ web platform, through a shared API.
- Business software ↔ external services: payment, shipping, SMS, e-mail.
- Data synchronisation between several databases or subsidiaries.
- Automations between tools with n8n or Make, when a connector already exists.
REST or GraphQL?
A REST API exposes resources through simple addresses; it is the most widespread and easy to cache and document. GraphQL lets the client request exactly the data it needs in a single query, useful for rich interfaces that assemble a lot of data. We detail these criteria in our article REST API vs GraphQL (in French).
Reliable and secure exchanges
- Authentication with tokens or keys, permissions limited to the strict minimum, secrets never stored in the code.
- Validation of all incoming data and rate limiting.
- Error handling: retries, queues and replayable operations that never create duplicates.
- Traceability: logging of exchanges and alerts when a synchronisation fails.
- Documentation (OpenAPI) and versioning so the API can evolve without breaking the applications that use it.
- Automated tests of the exchanges before every release.
Our approach
- InventorySystems to connect, data exchanged, frequency, volumes and available APIs.
- DesignExchange format, mapping rules, error and duplicate handling.
- Development and testingConnectors or APIs, tested on staging data.
- Go-liveOptional migration of historical data, monitoring and alerts.
- MaintenanceTracking changes in third-party APIs and new features.
Costs and timelines
The budget depends on the number of systems, the quality of their APIs, the data volume and the transformation rules. An integration through an existing connector (n8n, Make) is often the fastest to set up; custom development is justified for large volumes or complex rules. Every project is quoted individually.
